Peter K's World
The adventures of a South African
tour guide and photographer
Welcome to My Adventure
I have been on a roller coaster ride over the last decade. I gave up the corporate world ten years ago and took a chance and went on this crazy-beautiful and, at times, scary ride. I had to get out and finally follow my heart.
Now I want to take you all with me to enjoy this incredible journey. These unprecedented times have forced many of us to rethink our careers, our life’s philosophy, and even our future. Amidst the turmoil and insecurity that we’re now living with daily, I hope this will not only be a pleasurable distraction but will inspire and motivate you, enrich your mind and expand your horizon as well as make you think outside the box and if not for anything else, enjoy the ride.
I needed to be free and the gypsy in me finally came to the surface. I’ve always been a gypsy and have never settled down. I got that from my dad. I’ve travelled and worked all over the world from London to Los Angeles, Koh Tao to Kuwait, Berlin to Dublin and Joburg to Cape Town.
My overriding passion is photography and I have a variety of unique subjects that I’m truly passionate about; Black and White photography has really been my true passion but I love any opportunity and will photograph any subject that comes across my lens. You can view a few of these images in my Portfolio section.
I became a tour guide out of a love for this country and this is my adventure. As a South African Tour Guide, I am now forced to rethink my career, and even my future and I saw all these opportunities in front of me. I’ve always jumped into the deep end but I’ve learnt to swim a long time ago.
As Bob Marley put it, “Though the road's been rocky it sure feels good to me.”
Many thanks to everyone who helped me get this package together, especially Tanya Vaish from Pearl Organisation. To everyone else who gave their support and encouragement, thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Please sit back and enjoy the world through my Lens and Story.
